TruAlt Bioenergy- GAIL JV to develop CBG plants network

New Delhi, 13 August 2025 – TruAlt Bioenergy, has signed agreement to enter into a strategic joint venture with GAIL  to accelerate the development of India’s Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) sector. As per the agreement, GAIL shall acquire 49% equity stakes in Leafiniti Bioenergy Private Limited (LBPL), a 100% subsidiary of TruAlt, subject to satisfactory completion of Condition Precedents and DIPAM approval. LBPL owns and operates 10.2 TPD press-mud based CBG plant in the State of Karnataka since 2021.

The JV will focus on establishing multiple greenfield CBG plants as part of a phased rollout designed to scale rapidly and deliver measurable environmental, economic and social impact.

In its first phase, the joint venture will roll out six state-of-the-art greenfield plants, each with a capacity of 12 tonnes per day mainly based on associated products from Sugar mills, delivering a combined annual output of 23,976 tonnes of CBG. In addition to clean energy, the facilities shall have potential to generate high-value agricultural inputs, including 83,916 tonnes of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) and 4,03,596 tonnes of Liquid Fermented Organic Manure (LFOM) annually.
