Chennai, September 22, 2025: Montra Electric Last-Mile Mobility has successfully dispatched 175 units of its flagship electric three-wheeler, the ‘Super Auto,’ by rail from Tada in Andhra Pradesh to Siliguri in West Bengal. This marks the brand’s first bulk railway shipment, ensuring dealerships across North and North-East India are fully stocked to meet the heightened festive season demand.
The strategic shift to rail underscores Montra Electric’s commitment to sustainability and smarter logistics. Transporting the same consignment by road would have required 17–18 truck trips and 12–14 days of transit. By consolidating the load into a single rail movement, the company reduced delivery time by over 60%, completing the journey in under five days, while also cutting an estimated ~15,800 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. In addition, the move lowered overall logistics costs by up to 30%, eliminated customer waiting time during the festive rush, and helped ease congestion on highways.
A dedicated warehouse facility in Siliguri has been designated to hold the dispatched vehicles before distribution to dealerships, ensuring immediate availability of Super Autos for customers.
This initiative highlights how leveraging India’s national railway infrastructure can reshape sustainable distribution for the EV industry, delivering smarter, faster, and greener mobility solutions.
